MBA
Program overview
The DIT MBA has at its core, general management and leadership development. Designed as a transformative process, the curriculum develops individuals from functional specialist roles to holistic, strategic problem-solvers. The programme changes the way participants think about business, marrying analytical rigor and relevance to practice throughout. Participants learn to manage in an entrepreneurial way through the application of proven concepts and frameworks, which they are challenged to tailor to their organisational and competitive contexts.
The DIT programme attracts participants from diverse backgrounds; multinational corporations, SMEs, entrepreneurial start-ups, government agencies and NGOs. Designed for experienced professionals working in management positions, DIT’s MBA programme prepares students for senior management challenges and responsibilities through an intense and internationally oriented professional development experience.
For experienced managers who want to advance to more senior roles, or perhaps lead their own enterprise, the programme commences with a comprehensive grounding in core functional areas, and transitions rapidly to focus on wider strategic management and leadership engagement in a globally oriented practice-based learning paradigm.
The aims of the DIT MBA programme are to:
- Prepare students for transformational and leadership roles while leveraging prior management experience;
- Provide graduates with strategic thinking abilities and methods to deliver innovative and entrepreneurial outcomes;
- Imbue graduates with a global business ambition and orientation;
- Embed learning in a global context, embracing corporate social responsibility and sustainability;
- Facilitate learning through practice encompassing managerial ‘decision-making fit’ to market and organisational contexts;
- Develop personal and professional skills including team working, self-appraisal and communication; and
- Enhance graduate career potential.
